Stark Varg Best Practices for New Owners
Welcome back to the Shop Talk blog here at Moto Z! If you’re new around here, we’re a motorcycle shop in Western New York who also happens to be a bike aficionado. We love bikes, and we love racing. Track days is where you’ll find our family and friends, and we’ve always been at the forefront of new electric motorcycle game. We were one of the first in the US to offer ZERO motorcycles right here in our shop, and today we offer Stark Varg! Today on the blog we wanted to welcome new readers to the Stark Varg life, and tell you a few things you might want to consider if you’re just getting into electric dirtbikes or thining about buying a Stark.
Make Sure Your Suspension is Balanced
One thing you’ll want to make sure is that your suspension is balanced. If you know your way around a bike, and do your own suspension, you should be able to balance her out. If you don’t talk to your motorcycle mechanic about the suspension and ask him to check to see if he thinks its properly balanced for your personal ride.
Be Prepared with Spare Parts
The out of the box parts, like any stock product, are not always the be all end all. Tubes, tires, rims, conversion kits can all make the experience more worthwhile. However, new riders should be advised that some message boards have referred to the tubes as “beach ball tubes.” Another rider warned buyers “When you pick your bike up, pick up a 19 and 21 tube. Do not go riding one time with those rediculous tubes the bike comes with.”
Some First Impressions of First Time Stark Varg Riders
Overall the reviews on these bikes have been glowing to say the least. The throttle delivers immediate torque, providing instant, massive power. With no clutch or foot shifter, the rear brake moves to the left handlebar, which riders seem to like, but there are plenty of ways to customize your Stark. One truly odd thing you’ll never forget is the silence the first time you ride one of these things. No heat not buzz, but a lot of POWER. Stop in and try one out at our shop sometime!

Know Your Tire Type
Depending on your riding style, you may not have the best tires out of the box. Each Stark will allow you some customization when you work with you dealer and order yours, so be sure to check out all the options. You may want to drop a little air pressure if you’re on the faster side with the Pirelli tire. These bikes will put a lot of stress on the front tire, so you may be better off with a stiffer tire. Know your style and terrain, and have a guy who you can trust to help you out.
Always Check Your Spokes
Some riders have reported that spokes come loose pretty easily after a trail loop or track run. You’ll want to always check your spokes and make sure everythings alright each and every ride.
Be Mindful of Water
The Stark Varg electric dirt bike is considered water proof by IP69K ratings for both its electronics and batteries. Thiss means if you’re out in the elements, mud, rain, etc, you should be fine. However, it’s not meant to be submerged, and you should be mindful if ever power washing. Many riders online have spoken on being very cautious when using high-pressure streams as it can cause damage on critical wheel and linkage bearings and force water past seals.
